Presale Passwords - Everything You Ever Wanted to Know

What’s the Purpose of Presale Passwords?

For most concerts and events, tickets are released in batches.  Generally speaking, the best tickets go first to industry insiders, the artists and players themselves and friends of the artists and players. After that the fan club receives the next batch.  Finally, the remaining tickets are released to the general public. Although this isn’t always the case, if you want to go to an event, it’s usually worth having the presale password. This can not only help you get a better seat, but also improves your odds of landing tickets altogether.

Help! I Can’t Find the Presale Password Anywhere.

Lucky for you teams, artists and venues often use the same password over and over again. Below is a table with common presale passwords. Additionally, if you know the password for an artist or tour at one location, try the same password at other locations - it’s often the same one. If you can’t find it anywhere, the password could be a unique presale password.

Common Presale Passwords
ENERGY ZXA RADIO 414720 (VISA)
PANTHER FUN LAUGH 412800 (Citicard)
TMDEAL CONCERT HOB 8003272177 (AMEX)
ECLUB COMEDY BAND 8004923932 (AMEX)

What’s the Difference Between Unique Presale Passwords and Generic Presale Passwords?

Unique presale passwords can only be used once and are usually a combination of letters and numbers that do not form a word (e.g. 38FB6bLt19, Kj53aL, 73815B). A generic password can be used many times indefinitely and is usually a word, phrase or initials (e.g. ENERGY, TMDEAL, HOB). All presale passwords posted on our blog are generic passwords.

What’s the Advantage of Unique Presale Passwords?

Unique passwords directly limit the number of people who can purchase the batch of tickets as unique presale password expires after one use. Unique presale passwords are normally reserved and seen as perks for exclusive fan clubs and season ticket holders.

What’s the Advantage of Generic Passwords?

Although generic passwords only indirectly limit the amount of people who can buy tickets, they can temporarily create artificial demand and reward fans who sign up for email notifications from the team or artist. Generic passwords are usually for more open fans clubs and friends of season ticket holders.

How Can I Get a Unique Password?

The TicketStumbler Blog does not feature unique passwords for obvious reasons. We recommend joining the bands’ fan club. Or you could try Ebay, but we wouldn’t recommend it.

What is a CITI/VISA/AMEX presale?

These presales are ones sponsored by CITI, VISA or AMEX. They usually require you to enter the first digits of the credit card or a phone number from the back of the card. Although we list some examples of what these passwords might be in our Common Presale Passwords table above, they do vary and some of these presales also require the actual purchase be made by the respective card.

None of the Above Worked. What Should I do as a Last Resort?

This is a little bit of a stretch, but I have had it work before. Try using different combinations of an artist’s name, tour, quick description, song etc (e.g. OAR, FUNNY, SEINFELD, NIN). Good luck!

The best Twitter analogy I’ve heard is a constantly updating, reciprocal AIM away message, but even that isn’t a very good to explain it. This video does a pretty good job of explaining twitter:

NCAA Football Week 3

Editor’s Note: The following is written by Dustin at The Game Owl. The Game Owl focuses on game and league previews, marquee match ups, fantasy sports and the best games to attend. Dustin is a former college athlete, adamant sports fan and contributor to the TicketStumbler Blog.  Check out his website at www.thegameowl.com.

What a fun weekend of football!  I hope everyone has enjoyed the first big weekend of many!  I know I had a great time watching my Nittany Lions and Steelers win!  The weather in Happy Valley wasn’t so happy since it was overcast and decided to rain during prime tailgate time.  The weather did cooperate for the game and there were 108,000+ in attendance for the game.

In much more popular news, everyone is talking about Tom Brady’s injury.  And although I feel bad for his teammates and (to a much lesser extent) his fans, I don’t think poor Tom will be treated to poorly by Gisele.  I mean could anyone imagine her bringing you soup or sandwiches after your knee surgery?  It will be interesting to see how the Pats rebound and how much the media will cover Brett Favre’s every move. So week 3 of College Football is upon us and there are some great match-ups this week!  Number 1 USC hosts Ohio State in my game of the week!  That is right Ashley, I didn’t forget them.  Also Michigan plays at Notre Dame in what should be an interesting match-up.  Check out my other 8 picks below as well as the starting prices for tickets if you want to venture out and enjoy a great day of Saturday Football!  All the games are linked for your pleasure!

  1. Ohio State at USC - 8:00 PM - From $90. The Buckeyes head to Cali to face the Trojans.  Obviously, this will be the major hyped game and should be the locale for College Game Day.  I like the Trojans at home but think the game will be a close one as Ohio State will be prepared like they were for the Longhorns.  I assume LA’s finest will be in attendance so hopefully you can make it as well.
  2. Georgia at South Carolina - 3:30 PM - From $99.  The no longer number 1 Bulldogs head to the other S.C. and goes against a tough Gamecock team.  I like Georgia in this game although never count out Steve Spurrier, well unless he is coaching an NFL squad. (my bad, low blow).  If you are in SEC country this is probably your game of the week.
  3. Arkansas at Texas - 3:30 PM - From $48.  The Razorbacks head to Austin for an afternoon game.  I like the Longhorns in this game at home.  Arkansas will probably have a slightly down year with the loss of Darren McFadden.  Since Austin is always a great place to party I am sure this game will just add to the festivities.
  4. Oregon at Purdue -3:30 PM - From $9.  I am intrigued by this match up.  The Ducks and Boilermakers face off for the first time since 1979.  I love to see east/west coast teams travel across the country, it is great for the fans, programs, and players.  The state of Indiana has a few nice match-ups, I would take the more unique one though.
  5. Penn State at Syracuse - 3:30 PM - From $39.  An old time rivalry is reborn as the Nittany Lions head to Syracuse to face the Orange(men).  I like the Lions in this one with a large visiting crowd in attendance.  The Orange have been on hard times as off late, but having a big matchup on TV always helps a program.  Should be a nice Saturday and tailgating scene in Syracuse!
  6. Georgia Tech at Virginia Tech-3:30 PM - From $59.  The ACC battle of the Tech schools.  The Yellow Jackets head to Blacksburg to try to beat the Hokies.  I think it will be a great day in western Virginia for a competitive game.  I am sure there will be some Yellow Jacket fans making the trip from Atlanta.
  7. Auburn at Mississippi State - 7:00 PM - From $33.  An under the radar matchup in the SEC.  Plenty of time to tailgate with the 7 PM start.  I am going to go with the upset here and think the Bulldogs will surprise the Tigers.
  8. Oklahoma at Washington - 7:45 PM - From $25.  So we had Oklahoma St. traveling to Seattle’s Qwest Field to face Washington St., now we have the Sooners facing the Huskies at Husky Stadium in Seattle.  The Sooners should roll in this west coast road trip.  But once again, if you are in the Pacific Northwest head into Seattle and watch another great game between the Big 12 and Pac 10.t
  9. Michigan at Notre Dame - 3:30 PM - From $100.  Ok so here is where I decided to talk about Notre Dame and Michigan.  Every year we get to see these two historic programs face off.  Probably the most unpredictable match up as of late with Rich Rodriguez taking over the program.  Tickets are hard to come by at Notre Dame so getting a few early might be in your best interest.
  10. Iowa State at Iowa -12:00 PM -  From $94.  To start your afternoon in the Midwest we have an inner state rivalry game!  The Cyclones and the Hawkeyes have played each other since 1977, so I am sure Iowa State is used to the pink visiting locker room by now.  Should be a good game as the Hawkeyes look to get on a roll to enter the Big Ten season.

New Stuff Blog Launched

TicketStumbler.com has run in to a problem. Because we’re averaging roughly a post per day since June, posts about features, bugs, or updates to our main site often get pushed to the bottom rather quickly. To fix this we created the New Stuff Blog.

So for the latest features, product announcements and other information pertaining to TicketStumbler.com, check out the New Stuff Blog. For presale passwords, on sale updates and ticket discussion check here. The first post is about NBA tickets and new venues.
