New Provider: Free Ticket Exchange!

Things have been pretty quiet around the blog recently, but don’t think that means we haven’t been working! Most recent work has been on internal stuff; cleaning up code, improving existing features, planning new stuff, etc. But, I’ve taken a break from some boring technical pursuits to add a new ticket provider to the site: Free Ticket Exchange. FTE is much smaller than Tickets Now or Stubhub, but they have one thing the big boys don’t – well, rather, don’t have something they do – fees! That’s right: all those annoying fees you’re used to seeing tacked onto the final ticket price don’t apply to FTE tickets! If a ticket costs $10.95, you pay $10.95, not $30. Imagine that!

As I said, they’re still a startup (much like us!), so they have a smaller inventory, but you’ll want to pay attention to these tickets when you see them because it’s guaranteed the final price will be cheaper than same-priced tickets from another site.

Until next time, don’t sit so close to the TV; you’ll burn your eyes out!

Theater Tickets Now Available!

That’s right cats and kittens, TicketStumbler now includes theater tickets! You can access these tickets at the brand-spankin’-new subdomain created just for ‘em:

http://theater.ticketstumbler.com/

When we first started TicketStumbler, we planned to stick to sports tickets for quite a while – they’re what we know best and what we thought were the most popular. However, the day we launched we were already seeing searches for concert tickets (despite the site not saying anything about concert tickets!). That prompted us to add concerts. Then it became apparent to us that this whole “theater” (I prefer “theatre”) thing was pretty popular, too. I wonder what the secondary market will start selling next… whatever it is, we’ll be on top of it!

Mo’ Tickets!

As part of the No Tickets Left Behind Act signed by Barack Obama, TicketNetwork has now been added to our listings. Enjoy!

Realtime Updates; Venue Pages

Things have been a bit crazy around here recently, so I apologize for the late update. This week, we have a couple of minor additions for you. Firstly, select ticket providers’ listings are now updated in realtime. This means we go out and get fresh listings for them whenever you load a listings page. This process gives more up-to-date information at the expense of slightly increased load times.

Secondly, we now have “venue pages” which, for the moment, simply supply a list of events which are happening at the venue. You can find links to these pages on the homepage, search results, and other places where events are listed. Just click on the venue name (it’s underlined!) and you’ll be sent to the venue’s page. In the future we will be updating these pages with more information, such as address and driving directions.

Finally, we’ve had to disabled the new interactive venue maps for now. Hopefully we will be able to go into why in the future (as well as re-enable them), but for now I will only say that disabling them highly irritated us and was not done as a result of any issue on our end. In any case, we hope this doesn’t adversely affect you finding tickets through the site in the future.

More Tickets! Num Num!

As of yesterday, we added RazorGator back to our active providers and tripled the number of StubHub tickets we list. Enjoy!
