We’re a little light today as the sports world adjusts to life without football. We’ve got a great 2nd half of the NHL season ahead, what looks to be an interesting NCAA tournament and the NBA to keep us satisfied.

Kobe goes off for 61 at The Garden
. With Bynum out during the stretch run (AGAIN), it’ll be on Kobe to step up and carry the Lakers to a top seed in the West. Problem is, we’ve seen what happens when Kobe tries to do too much. Shame for Bynum, who is a hell of a player. (Yahoo)

Josh Boone (NJ Nets) did a good deed. NBA can never get enough positive PR like this. (NYT)

Super Bowl odds for next season are already out. Woo hoo! Dolphins at 35-1 is a travesty, btw, even if they are going to be playing the hardest schedule in the NFL. (The Spread)

Uh-oh
. That’s not good, but what else can Citi do? Politicians in D.C. aren’t going to risk losing voters favor over the Mets. The Yankees, maybe, but not the Mets. (ESPN)

Enterprising NBC affiliate in Detroit appropriately threw Matt Millen under the bus every time he appeared on screen
in the Super Bowl pre-game broadcast. Brilliant. (Freep.com)
